Flying Clock Alarm
I never thought I’d see the day when my son requested a powerful wake up alarm clock and a proper loud alarm clock at that.
Over a period of several days he was coming out with all sorts of weird and wonderful model types – Sonic Boom, Vibrating alarm, Laser Target, Animal alarm, Rocket Launcher . . .
and possibly the funniest a Clocky alarm clock ! No, I hadn’t heard of that one, either – Oh the power of the internet to a curious mind!
Whatever happened to good old clockwork – or even battery powered analogue display, amongst more traditional clocks and timepieces?
He’d also been eyeing up a remote controlled helicopter at a recent toy & game fair, but I had to explain that the money tree at the bottom of the garden was still hibernating.
Being the clever chap that he is a compromise was sought – a flying digital alarm clock. Who’d ever thought that even five years ago that we’d see an alarm clock flying?
Apparently it’s even been on T.V’s ‘This Morning’ programme (appropriate, I guess!)
Following it’s arrival at our home I was the first to try it – all in the interests of being a good parent, “health and safety” and all that . . .
Well, in summary, the following morning began with what sounded like a “whoosh“, followed by the “Red Alert” alarm off the U.S.S Enterprise, then the moans and groans of a father trying to find the flying part to slot into the alarm clock’s top to shut the “alien attack, Captain” siren down.
Did I feel awake by this point? Oh yes, indeed. This alarm clock takes no prisoners. Fed up of over-sleeping? Then this is for you. It does have a snooze function (feeling brave?).
Wonderful fun and it definitely gets you up in the morning, – whether or not you always end up in a good mood at the crack of dawn is another matter . . . it does what it claims to do . . . Takes off, flies round the room and buzzes like a mosquito, whilst reminding you you’re on red-alert until you find the “alien” flying machine . . .
Boys and their toys – where will it end, I know where it begins – early mornings and the call of the outdoors to play with other flying toys !
